Having the 'Royal Air Force' painted on the grey bit looks odd to me, but then I was brought up at a time when they had 'Royal Air Force Transport Command' painted on the white bit. I can't think of another RAF aircraft that has its ownership painted that prominently in this day and age.

So what are the chances of putting the Rivet Joint pieces on a Nimrod in similar markings?

Depends how their Airships think I suspect. Similar things have happened before with US supplied aircraft where they got the colours not quite right, something on the RAF/RN Phantoms springs to mind and they were re-painted over here.

I like the idea of the cheek bulges and a long nose grafted onto a Nimrod, but can you get the bits as a conversion kit? IIRC I have both kits in The Loft too. :)

Mark @ Wolfpak decals / Spectre resins used to have the cheeks in 1/72.

It's a wierd colour scheme all right: I wonder why the fin flash is so low and small? It's not like the rest of it is particularly low-vis.............

I hope the Rivet Joint crews don't get mixed up if they have to fly a Sentry for a while, they'll bang their heads when they try to get in as the doors are in different places. :)

And I bet the Engineering section won't be happy either, they'll be carrying lots of spares that LOOK as if they might fit, but probably won't.

I suspect though, the cheek bulges would interfer with the airflow into the engine air intakes, they are kinda close to the fuselage -- 

But I wouldn't mind getting a couple of pairs of those cheeks too, got an idea for a 737 poor-mans elint

Those 'cheek things' are pretty darn huge and stick out a lot, which I know from personal experience but I'm not sure I'm allowed to say why......

They might be a bit TOO big for a 737 unless it's a very late model.

Considering that the company that does the conversions, L-3 Integrated Systems of Greenville, TX also has worked on the BBJ (at their Waco, TX facility), they could probably do the conversion of a 737-900 right smartly..  Note, Waco also does EP-3E conversions (worked there from early 2000 to August of 2002).
