Almost finished my third (of five) Merkavas – this time its a Mk.IId.
This is a “fill-in” job as I’m not feeling reckless enough to finish the paint on the Achzarit just yet.
Again it’s an AEF Designs resin conversion – one of six of their conversions I bought 25 years ago. I’ve resurrected an old wrecked Tamiya Merkava lower hull & damaged tracks with a couple of resin wheels. Upper hull & turret are resin with moderate bog & plastic bits.
Side skirts are modified Tamiya Mk.1 & the mounts are modified track-links.
Didn’t want another Sinai green or desert sand Merkava so chose gray which the IDF used in the 1982 Lebanon invasion as well as still seen in Gaza. Tried several grays but Testors Gunship Gray looked best -- but now its almost finished it does look a bit boring.
Undecided whether to just finish it as IDF or whif it as a Brazilian vehicle.

Nice
If you went Exército Brasileiro would you use the same camo colours as on that Brazilian AAVP-7?

AEF Designs. At least the resin was cured by now. Brazil gets my vote!
