Title: F-94E jet fighter
Post by: finsrin on April 22, 2012, 08:15:18 PM
One of the models we found when looking under a garage was the Aurora 1/82 F-94C.  Built it as another addition to the 1/72 air force.  Replaced two pilots with one.  Like with other bashes, there was no plan of what bash would end up as.  Looking thru stash, I considered what might work/fit to end up with a single seat jet fighter.   Ended up being only three kits: 1/72 F-4E, Mig-15 and basis kit 1/82 F-94C.
See attachments of briefing page and pictures.

Ok, that's just creepy, I'm in the middle of a very similar build. Just how did you get inside my mind? :o

Cool plane, looks very very believable.

To me it has the look of a Soviet fighter.

Nice work Bill.  The swept wing looks very good mated to the F-94 fuselage.

Indeed, its a very fine extrapolation. Mkes me wonder if it wouldn't look really jazzy with a forward-swept wing...

Tinfoil hat, all day long. I'm beginning to think the shape of the foil i8s more important than the foil itself....

Alvis - tell us more.  What kits are you working with?
F-94E does need redo on Sparrow missile for a better mounting.  So is not quite finished.
Maybe some paint on tips of tail wings & fin.

Well....I usually don't say anything until I'm done it (as I lose interest rapidly in projects and sometimes never return to them) but in this case, it's an F-80 fuselage and MiG-17 wings/tail. Prijected completion date is likely 2 months.

Let's pop back in 6 and see if I actually finished it!

Alvis... the shiny side of the foil has to be facing out, otherwise they can steal your thoughts. :)

The cat has it on right.

True Silver Fox, but of late I've been studying the amplifying effects of tinfoil hats. Worn the wrong way, it may allow them to be even more loud inside my head! Like a speaker, just more shiny.

Nice job, finsrin! I've got an F-94 in the stash too and it seems I'm not the only one who thinks this is ripe for whiffing.

Thanks all for comments.  Seems a wave of F-94 vibes from cosmos must have hit Earth.
When test fitted Mig-15 wings, they were a perfect fit.  Apparently it was meant to be.
Fun to do a fairly simple bash and have it work.
Three others in work ain't so simple.  But still enjoyable.
