It should make one heck of a 1/72 supersonic cruise missile, especially under a 1/72 bomber.  Vulcan's Hammer depicts a couple different Avro designs that fit that description, the Avro 734 being one of them.

I want to make a 1/72 scale one  -----   

I'm going to try and draw it in 3D first with the new drafting program I've got, Inventor.  I'll use the model as a guide but I also have a full set of drawings of the earlier Gyron powered version kindly provided by Geoff (thorvic on the What-If Forum) to compare it with.  From what I understand the fuselage shape is similar with the main difference being the engine pods, the FP kit is the four Avons to a pod version.  Once I've done with it, I may keep the kit and build it too, or it might get sold on.

You really want a different-looking 730 variation, the book on the Vulcan by Fildes has drawings of an early 730 that looks very similar to the J58-powered B-58 version.

Duncan (Overkiller) over on the Whiff Forum built a 1/72 one a few years ago and it was suitably AWESOME. Quite how they'd steer the darn thing on the ground I'm not sure but it looked VERY fast indeed.

Once it's drawn in Inventor, it can be scaled to any scale.  I'm not sure that 3D printing is a viable option at the moment, the end product would/will be horrendously expensive, that's judging by the cost of a couple of things I just bought.  Also by looking at the Click2Detail website ----

Erm!    actually, that might have been Duncan that sent me the drawings, the photo of the model on the Secret Projects forum Carl has just posted is Duncan's and he did have a thread on the What-If forum too.  This is the first version of the Avro 730

I remember what he told me about the the second version (the version Fantastic Plastic produces). although the fuselage looks the same shape wise, it's actually quite a bit shorter.  That's the challenging bit I'll have to overcome when I draw it up.  There are some very detailed drawings in the set of the undercarriage gear, the front one could have been lifted straight off a Vulcan.

Well if you have a 3D Printer that does make a difference doesn't it.  Out of interest, what is the material that's used for the printer to work on, and how much does it cost ?  I know I can't afford a printer at the moment, but I've got my bro' interested in one ---
