Title: Indian Airforce Mig-31R Cheeta - Finished
Post by: Buzzbomb on July 19, 2021, 07:39:56 AM
Five day snap lockdown...  :o Ok Slam out a build then for a WIM GB.

Very ordinary and probably 20 year old Zhengdefu kit of the Mig 31 Foxhound that has been on and off the bench a number of times, for different reasons and still has not been built.

So far the instructions are correct... The Model is much suitable imaginative you to make it and value it ;D

Most of it together... 180 grit time

Another thing I find with these builds of questionably quality kits, is the chance the experiment. I drilled through the landing gear to see if I can get it in take off mode. Less all the flaps and stuff.. that is too hard

Holdy uppy pins in place
(https://www.modelblokez.org.au/bthpix/whatif/spooks/mig31cheeta_4.JPG)
Lots more bits on and trying out the pose... so far, so good

Now.. if anybody knows where the second Engine jet pipe went to in  my workshop... please let me know  :banghead:

Great pose! Foxhound is a really aggressive-looking aircraft to begin with. But this takes it to another level

Love that "The Model is much suitable imaginative you to make it and value it."  ;D

Also, for the full-sized aircraft, very reassuring to know that "The intercepting ability in low sky was improved raidly." I mean, go 'raidly', or stay home, right?

I am left wondering, though, ... is the implication that the MiG-31's intercepting ability in high sky was not improved raidly?

I think it was just a recognition that the main threat at the time was seen to be low level attackers.

Found it !!!!! On an old build, a very old build. Quick removal for this current build

Well there it is. Good as it is going to get.

Raided the spares box for a few Soviet Recce pods and sensor pods. Probaby too many, but it looks cool

Very ordinary kit, but did the job
Base is a quick experiment in Paintshop trying to blur things, ok, but not as good as the commercial jobbies.
Quick and dirty build. Quite enjoyed that really ;)
*** BTW... our lockdown has been extended. Incarcerated for another 7 days. Might have to find something else to slam out :o

I thought I was the only one that suffered from missing parts that went to other projects.  Good save!

Also, I would not worry much about the blurred effects you were striving for, some of those so-called commercial products are overdone on that blurring effect.

It came out great, and the runway blur looks appropriate for a plane just taking off. I'm sure you can find a shutter speed, aperture and ASA that will match the same blur.

Great job that one. I built one of these kits ages ago, as I recall I'd call it a pig of a kit but that'd be insulting pigs.

Buzzbomb - the C&C Orca has been in my "folder of inspiration" for years. I've gone so far as to grab a Bandai EFGF Hovercraft!

My photos are all grainy though - have you got more stashed away on this site?
