Post Apocalypse - Delta Zone

(1/1)

dadlamassu:
As some may remember, I am more a wargamer than a modeller (and it shows).

After some time away from this project a bout of illness and bad weather kept me indoors a lot.  This provided the opportunity to paint some figures for my ongoing project based on The Delta Zone.  The background and first games are on my website here:http://www.morvalearth.co.uk/Zona%20Alfa/ZA%20DELTA%20ZONE%20Background/ZA%20Delta%20Zone.htm

Following the Heysham Event the local police and emergency services were overwhelmed and the armed forces were deployed to seal the Delta Zone as it was called under the UN classification of Exclusion Zones.  The UK Government's response was swift and an Exclusion Zone established.  To enforce this a new national dedicated paramilitary force was formed, the Zone Enforcement Police.  This force was equipped initially with ex-military weapons and vehicles.  However, as the nature of the Delta Zone became clearer special weapons and equipments were developed.  Not the least were small arms capable of dealing with both human and non-human targets and specialist vehicles.  The Force HQ is in Manchester at No1 Lesby Avenue with Divisional stations in Dumfries, Sunderland and York.

My ZEP troops are from the Wargames Atlantic Cannon Fodder boxes because they had an uncluttered and I had them!  I have the Stargrave Scavengers that will form some gangs, stalkers etc.  As well as a fairly extensive collection of Near Future post apocalypse figures.

I have not decided on a rank structure yet.  I am thinking that the ZEP will have a more police style structure than a military one but "Inspector" and "Superintendant" don't sound correct.  Suggestions appreciated.

The first group I have assembled as a test build has yet to see action on the tabletop and consists of a small HQ, two teams and a support vehicle.

The HQ
A sniper, leader and second in command (I may replace him with a more distinctive figure)

The teams

The Support Vehicle and crew.  The vehicle an old Matchbox Adventure 2000 toy.

Buzzbomb:
Nice stuff.

Back in my gaming days, for our Traveller RPG games, we used 15mm figures and also a lot of Matchbox vehicles, suitably modified or painted.

Jeffry Fontaine:
The 6X6 vehicle looks like it was designed by G. Anderson for the U.F.O. television series.
