Build planning: non-WHIF 1/48 Hasegawa F-15s, ADTAC '83
« on: June 23, 2013, 01:39:50 AM »
As noted in my other F-15 project thread, I needed donors for Stations 1/9, and as it happens I've been wanting to build a display of the aircraft of McChord AFB's 318th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron "Green Dragons", which means an F-15A and B, shorn of Stations 1/9 since the 318th never carried those pylons, would kill two birds with one stone.

Crossposting the big question from ARC...

The subjects: F-15A and B, 318th FIS ca. 1983-87.

The kit options: Hasegawa 1/48 boxings--if I can make a B out of the 07318 "D posing as E", the half a Hase Weapons Set or so co-bundled in with it going into my Ammo Box will help with the cost. Question is, which boxes are best for my purposes? I don't expect to find either of the boxes with 318th decals and ASAT... Is 07249 likely to successfully build as an A-model?

Well, I won on evilBay... one Hase 09850 on the way, even though I intend to replace its decals with aftermarket. $56.25 shipped.

Now, the problem becomes selecting and finding a donor to build the B at a price I like...
