Post ideas and inspiration here for the benefit of the entire design bureau.
Единство через совместную борьбу

Perhaps the most famous (???) of all designs from the Mikoyan Gurevich Design Bureau:

-
Another design to inspire you:

Cool find on Google image search:
Creator calls it a MiG-41.

-
The idea behind this was to make the world's fastest piston engined aircraft

MiG-105 "Spiral " Spaceplane:

Which you can get a model kit of as well: http://www.anigrand.com/AA2004_Mig-105.htm (http://www.anigrand.com/AA2004_Mig-105.htm)

On the ugly scale, it is a 2/10.

Here's some inspiration from a rival design bureau: Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut

Surely a MiG-29 could be the base for a FSW design?

The MiG Group Build is huge! Maybe the biggest and greatest Group Build in the history of Group Builds. But! It needs even more participation. Check those stashes and get something entered. Don't make Svetlana angry, you won't like her when she's angry!

And certainly don't get her grandmother angry...

Tupolev designed and built torpedo boats and aerosans:

So what would MiG have done with the same remit?

Love the intake on this. Tempted to attempt this, creator even made a schematic view.

Something from Mikoyan Gurevich that's perfect for those weekend trips to your Siberian Dacha: the MiG-8

Imagine a turboprop version of that, perhaps even a stretched one.

Mig 1.44. Big Sucka!!!

Comrades! Participation so far has exceeded expectations. Alas! The Defense Ministry requires more from us. So get out of the beet and potato fields and get back to the assembly lines!
You don't want to find your name on the manifest for one of Ludmilla's "Special Train Tours" to the gulag, do you?

Well, maybe we do...will Ludmilla be conducting the tours in person?

The Ye-152 was one ugly brute. It almost looks like scale-o-rama.

Does look scale-o-rama.
Get impression could have one SR-71 J58.

That's a Ye-152M; it was labeled as a Ye-166 when it set world records and, IIRC, is in Monino with that Bort Number.
I'm thinking of a modified Ye-231 with the lift engines removed and replaced by fuel tankage and ammo storage for a Gsh-23 under the fuselage as on later MiG-21's as well as canards on the inlets similar to those on a Kfir (thinking of using unused ones for a Ye-152M built without them.

Some inspiration:
This was based on an idea by TaiidanTomcat. He wanted to Soviet-ize an F-16 and asked me for a profile. MiG-21-ish canopy, spine and brake chute housing, as well as MiG-23 ventral fold-away fin. Also two fins. Because... why not? Maybe something more MiG-21- or 23-ish for the fin wouldn't look out of place either.

MiG-21Sh (Shturmovik) ground-attack. MiG-27 nose. Side intakes inspired by Republic's RF-84F Thunderflash.

MiG-25 with canards and mid-set wings. I had a top view of that with several styles of wings (delta, cranked delta, original Foxbat wings,...), but I'm afraid that one was lost "a few PCs back".

I like your thinking!

One of your other works of art inspires me, though I won't have it for this build (applicable kits are buried for the moment). The cross between a Ye-8 and a Mig-21Analog would make a suitable high-speed interceptor. I was thinking of adding bits from a MiG-21-93 for extra effect on at least one build.

OMG was that really 6 years ago already?! :o :o Great profiles. Someone on the old site had a "HIMAT" MiG-29 but I can't find it on my computer...

Odd though, a jet-powered MiG with a rather large engine, comparatively, in the rear with a NATO codename of "Fatass". Perhaps a MiG-19 variant (or SM-12 variant) with a single R-11-300 from a MiG-21?

The civilian version is pure Bond villian :-*

I'm thinking one could scratch build one by using parts from a Sukhoi Su-34.
