a new brid / aicraft hybrid (I still have an eagle head or two in my spare parts ... this is not over yet)

this involves a small 1/200 B-17 I had bought cheap, not exactly knowing what to do with it, quite some time ago

the eagle head comes form the Lindberg American eagle

I used wings for other projects, like this one, where wings span was just the same as this 1/48 F-14

of for a flying boat with Revell's tug

and the bodies were also used in hydrid assemblies :

hi all,

a new one, in the aircraft / insect range :
crossing a SR71 fuselage I had left over from another hybridization ,
and the wings of a butterfly
(well, actually, these ones are sold as fairy wings ... )

Pleasant pictures, thanks, enriching the Blackbird family by low-speed addition? or is it supersonic by some magic way? ;)

I have several of those too, bought up the last ones to be imported to my country :D  Didn't get the ant tho ::)

Also have the AMT giant Preying Mantis - might try & hunt down their giant spider & scorpion ... but I have a few of the real ones of those here.

hybrid aircraft/other objects ... Re: hybrid aircraft/animals
« Reply #97 on: December 07, 2014, 06:08:56 PM »
another form of hybrids, still involving aircraft.
The story of how it came about is that I used an old 1/100 B727 from East-Germany I had to make a flying boat with a 1/72 hull, described elsewhere on this forum, and then I remembered I wanted to make a B727 in that scale (because it's the biggest available in injection plastic I think) with the famour Calder Branniff livery, so I had to find another one. And then on ebay I found a lot wih two of them, plus two Tu-20 Bear at the same 1/100 scale, quite large.
And I had been considering putting a water tap at the nose of an aircraft for quite some time (why? ... well ... I don't quite know ... but it does have a look, I think).

So here it is, in red :
