Pease, read these first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtiss_P-60 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtiss_P-60)

What if data from testing  this unique hybrid fighter were considered promising and P&W decided to go a further step, installing Double Wasp engine in a P-40/36 aiframe?

Well, this looks interesting Carlos! Is that a P-47 tail? Are you going to lengthen the undercarriage? Inquiring minds need to know  ;D

Only if needed. The engine comes from an Invader, propeler blades are broader but not much longer. And yes, P-47 tail.

I've got a real soft spot for the P-36, so much so that I'd never thought it could be improved upon.

Until now.

I keep imagining this one in Spanish Republican colors, but however it ends up, it's going to be incredible!

Simply outstanding, Carlos!

Hi Brian, your idea is great, but FTTB I am thinking on the many (marvels for whiffers like us) attempts that Curtiss made during WWII in order to provide USAAF a good successor of P-40. This can be like a light Thunderbolt, IMO. :)
