1/72 "Tank, Infantry, Mark 1, A11, 'Matilda' "
This is a 3D printed model.
The .stl file was obtained from :-
https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/matilda-mki-1-5628mm/ (https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/matilda-mki-1-5628mm/)
scaled down to 1/72 from 1/56, and printed on an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro.
Painted with Vallejo Model Color paints, decals from the Airfix Light Tank Mk.VI kit.

Oh that is really good. Even the scale down appeared to have no real effect on the detail

Looking very Matilda 1 ish.
3D printing has come a long way.

Must've done! That looks amazing, Robin! And in 'Braille scale' too :o
Lovely work

Very nice!

Thanks, Gents . . . :-[ 8) And it only took me two attempts each to print the turret and tracks, and three for the hull . . .I find that scaling down a larger model retains the detail, whereas scaling up a smaller one coarsens what detail there is, which is usually coarse to begin with. Also, as you can see, there is no detail on the hull bottom, and also all the marks left from the supports.
cheers,Robin.

Would make a neat way to model extensive shot damage on a range-wreck.

It came out great! I thought some of the details were "exaggerated for wargaming", but I looked up the real tank and it looked like this.

What are you lot talking about? :))
A tank? What tank? ???
That? :-\
It's too small! I can't see anything! :o
You're sure its not a green cockroach? ::)
What can I say, 1/72 scale. ;)
Great build, mate!

Yeah, it's a bit of a lottery as to how the models will come out, but in general I've found that scaling down produces better results than scaling up. You have to study the images provided by the seller. If i'm lucky, they will show an image of an unpainted, printed model, so that the detail is visible, failing that, a painted, finished model is also useful to judge, whereas CGIs of the .stl aren't realyy useful at all. Sometimes, of course, you just have to bite the bullet and buy the file . . .
Thing is, being an editable file, it is possible to modify things, if it's not quite right . . .
cheers,
Robin.

That came out very nicely. Always thought the Mk I was an excellent candidate for a scale-o-rama, but not quite like this ;) (I think the design would make a splendid 'landship' with a five of six inch gun in the turret.)

Indeed, or even the turret from a dreadnought . . .
cheers,
Robin.
