I based my Lincoln suggestion on the RCAF's pair of Lancaster 10DC launch aircraft. Which reminds me, should anyone want 'that other scale', Belcher Bits offers a 1/72 KDA-1 kit with Lanc pylons.

And that raises a question: Did RCAF Lancaster 10DCs ever carry twin Firebees? IIRC, all the photos I have seen of KB848 and KB851 as 'DCs, show them carrying a single KDA-1 (despite twin pylons being fitted),
BTW, on the attached images, note that the Firebee is wearing USAF markings.
