The Frog/Novo/et al. Buccaneer is an old but reasonably decent kit.  I have it, various Airfix kits, and the Matchbox/Revell/AMT boxings in my stash.

The only possible response to these latest works is a low appreciative whistle; they are superb and quite tempting.  I think I even have sufficient stash to do them.  I may give the RAMAA Harriers the extra underwing hardpoints the British second-generation Harriers have as that would see appropriate (similar aircraft would be Harrier FG.11 aircraft in RAF/FAA service).

Thinking on it the Bucc would have made a lot of sense for NZ, more so than a fighter or light attack aircraft. Due to the geographic location and the sort of threats they could conceivably faced, a maritime strike/reconnaissance platform would have been a good fit.

Love the Bucc's in RNZAF colours and yes Volk the Bucc almost made the cut for the RNZAF Canberra replacement instead of the A4 Skyhawk, it came down to cost and I don't think was in RAF service at the time when the decision by the NZG to go with the A4? I think from memory a number of other counties around the same time didn't chose the Bucc because it wasn't in RAF service apart from the SAAF.

A wee bit off tropic,
The BAE Hawk almost entered service RNZAF only for the NZG Finance Minister and her Klingons at the Treasury Dept to kick it onto touch because of cost. From what my uncle said as he was on the project team at the time the Hawk/BAE offer was far better than the Italians and from his impression at the time (even now) that the Italians under bided for Bunty replacement with all the dramas that RNZAF had with the M339C during its service with the RNZAF.

Didn't the Aussies have the Hawk.  If so it would have been a good choice for the RNZAF.  But for 'The Powers That Be' things would go a lot smoother in this world.
