Always though the Jaguar and Mirage F-1 would make a nice pairing, complementing each other quite well operationally.

It wouldn't necessarily need to have been captured. Remember that the nascent Israel had reasonable relations with the Soviet Union and could easily have acquired more such equipment.

So I think, that here is a "question of time". When goes operations Velveta (deliveries fom Czechoslovakia), Il-10s are not available there. And license built started in early ´50. In that time deliveries for Israel was stopped in favor of their arabian neighbours $:-\$
