Michael Benolkin over at CyberModeler provides a first look at their new 1/72 PBM-5A Mariner Kit.



Added to the wish list.

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

 Its in a very nice scale...pity its so flipping expensive. I can see a world of possibilities in the wing
 center section alone...

That is why your birthday is one special day where you can buy kits like this without any guilt and and sleep tight that night with the kit stashed under your pillow or bed. Check the Japanese online hobby stores, they do have good deals.

And yes, it rates 8/10 on the WHIF factor. I was thinking of contra-props, auxiliary J-85s, more external stuph, move the floats to the tips a-la PBY, bigger turrets etc.

Make it a fire bomber. Paint yellow with red stripes.

I'm thinking turboprops.  Perhaps a longer hull and wider wingspan with four inline engines, pusher and puller and Red Stars...
