Rounding up the herd
« on: June 04, 2012, 11:53:29 AM »
doing a diorama -- figures are old Warhammer Space Orks - the bugs are the 4:1 scale Heller kits & the rubber Academy Zerg.  I'll be mounting them on a wood base with model-railway scenic grass mat & a few small boulders from the garden.

The Zerg's a bit of a scaredy-cat -- running from a pair a' dumb Orks

This already looks cool. I'm looking forward to the finished scene.

How embarassing to be slain by a giant ladybug!  ;D   Looks like a fun project.

Great concept for a diorama. I especially like the bugs  :D

Cool stuff!  :) Never knew Academy really released the Zerg kit. Once saw a Toy Fair announcement for it, but that was the last I saw of it. Actually strange that Academy didn't do more StarCraft kits, considering StarCraft is Korea's national sport.  ;D A 1/72 Terran Wraith or Siege Tank, now that would've been something.... 8)

Regarding the Heller bugs, here's the 1/1 scale beast! Little fokker wanted to grab my camera. He was about 15cm/6in long, IIRC.  :o Lived in the forest for half of my life, but this one's the only one I ever saw. Almost ran the poor sod over when he tried to cross the bike lane.
