G43 with a drum magazine might be an interesting combination.

What if a 12.70 mm version of MG-42

I know the M2 .50 cal and M1919 .30 cal are very similar, are they scaled up/down versions of the same weapon? One suggestion. Perhaps trade the pistol grip and buttstock on the mg 42 for spade grips and a butterfly trigger like on the .50? That would be a lot of force transferring to the shoulder of the shooter, even with a tripod.

The modified MP40 with the rifle stock reminded me of the French MAS38 prewar SMG

Love that MP-44 with drum magazine.

Submachine gun
First one is taken from a toy description. Is it inspired in any real weapon?
(http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j340/ysi_maniac/ModellingProjects/FigureWeapons/submach45.jpg) (http://s1080.photobucket.com/user/ysi_maniac/media/ModellingProjects/FigureWeapons/submach45.jpg.html)

One of my favourites is the FG42 with a US company now manufacturing and selling semi auto versions.
The various iterations of the Mauser C96, including fixed stock carbines and fully auto versions, is also very interesting.

Toying with Beretta 92 and AK-47

I particularly like the long barrel pistol :)

Two ways to add drum magazine to Mauser 1912.

C96 Mauser (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauser_C96). One of my favourite pistols and a fine example of Steam punk style weaponry :)
The concept on the left in the above image is the more practical of the two as it would imply that the magazine is detachable and would fit in the existing magazine well of the Mauser. Later versions of the C96 with larger capacity detachable magazines and fully automatic capability being the best example of this feature. The selective fire Mauser M1932 / M712 Schnellfeuer pistol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mauser_Schnellfeuer.jpg) is a good example of the detachable higher capacity magazine modification with a practical (for the time) 20 round box magazine.

Top image is from a toy. AFAIK it does not represent any real pistol but it is inspired in 2 subjects: slide looks like Baby Desert Eagle and the rest looks like Beretta 92. I would be very greatiful if someone give us better info.
Lower image is a proposal to extend gun. I like long barrel pistols. :)
-
What if a Desert Eagle submachine gun?
... and what if a dual magazine pistol with 2 kind of compatible cartridges to choose?

There are examples in RW of MP40 and MP44 with drum magazines, but I prefer the PPSH drum (rescaled in MP44 case).

Variations on MP44

Taking that lower MP-44 & adding a folding stock would look interesting & be practical. As would doing the same to the drum-magazined version in reply #14.
-
I have been playing around with the idea of adding a drum magazine to the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. Something that would hold around fifty rounds of ammunition. Yeah, probably not a great idea due to the weapon over heating and no means of replacing the barrel but in 1:35th scale it should look rather interesting. :)

If you mean muzzle-loaders, yes.

Were there breech loader rifles in ACW?

Haven't watched these but I do watch the sites (esp. Forgotten Weapons) but I haven't had the time to catch up on all of Ian's videos, they should be good.

First of all, I have to warn that I put this type of projects in the Figures section because for me this is the main incentive to carry them out.

Top one looks like a Chinese prototype that was built using a Russian tank as a basis.
Bottom one looks like one of those mini-tanks used to train Russian children in the Army cadets :D

If you merge a Carabine M1 and a Thompson, do you get a US MP44? ;D

Carlos, I like the look of your Thompson/M1 carbine hybrid. That said, the .30 Carbine and 7.92 kurz rounds have very different performances. In modern terms, the MP44 is an assault rifle, but the M1 more of a Personal Defence Weapon for non-infanteers.
With a weak cartridge like the carbine's, there isn't much muzzle climb. So, unlike the MP44, you really don't need to raise the buttstock to compensate. If for some other reason you just want that inline stock look, you'd need to raise both fore and rear sights.
Also, your weapon shows two cocking levers. You only need one. I'd just stick with the M1 operating slide handle - directly above the magazine - and ditch the Thompson's receiver-side cocking handle.
Still, a cool notion. I like the idea of a modernized M1 carbine
-
Thanks for your expert explanation!
-
Hardly expert! ;D
Based on your concept, I'm wondering about a more straightforward adaptation of the Thompson as an MP44 analogue. To get the extra power, you need a cartridge closer in size to the 7.92x33mm Kurz. I've knocked together some crude renderings of possibilities.
For comparison sake, I've put in the .30 Carbine and .45 ACP as well as the 7.92x33mm Kurz and 'full-sized' 30-06 Springfield.
The What-If cartridges (from left to right) are:
-- 7.62x33mm = .30 Carbine bullet in new case (either necked .45 ACP or much shortened 30-06)
- 11.43x33mm = .45 ACP bullet in a lengthened case (like .45 Long Colt but rimless)
-- 7.62x33mm = Shortened rifle bullet in new case (or much reduced 30-06 derived case)
-----------------
And, based on the above, I've knocked together my own version of an intermediate cartridge Thompson derivative:
