MaK-17 Hammerhead
« on: April 29, 2016, 03:30:04 PM »
Hi guys

Another crazy project is afoot! ;)

This time a flying apparatus slightly influenced by the Maschinen Krieger universe.

Mainly because of the figures, which are leftovers from my Falke:

The other main contributors to this endeavour are a P-47D:

And the ubiquitous Mig-17 (in this case in a chinese disguise):

Hence the "fusion" name: MaK-17. The Hammerhead part you will find out later :)

So the plastic mingling starts...

First, the interior:

And the exterior:

And after assembling everything together, you get....a Hammerhead, of course! :)

Now is time to plan an adequate base to place it.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Thanks for the nice words!

With the ship pretty much sorted out, it was time to think about the base.

Starting with 2 wood "wheels"

Joined together

With the real "floor"

Some positioning trials...

Planning done. Now is time to attack the real work, i. e., all the small details still missing.

Thanks for watching!

"Hammerhead" is obvious but it strikes me as looking more Star Wars pod-racer than MaK, at the moment. ???

Waiting to see where you take it, Antonio. :)

Hi guys

Thanks for the nice comments.

To be honest, for me the photographic presentation of the works in a forum or any media is vital, and must be the best possible.
So you may not like my models, but at least the pictures will be ok :)

And the detailing work has begun

The floor.

The steps to unify both parts of the base

With the supporting cart

Final positioning

That is both a clever use of a Mig-17 and old MaK parts and a beautiful diorama. You have the eye of an artist. I don't know what you did with the rest of the artist, but you at least got his eye. Great work!

Sorry for this delay.

To make the rivets I used the trumpeter riveter and a metal ruler. Not fantastic but gets the job done...eventually :)

The good news is that the project is finished!
