Is it enamel you cant paint on acrylic or the other way around ?!

 Im just testing something its not a big issue but im damned if i can remember... :/

Acrylic over enamel is fine.

Enamel over acrylic is BAD!!!!  Unless you're trying for some extreme weathering and want the paint eaten look  ;)

This is true with almost all paint brands but not all.  Try it on a scrap or inconspicuous area first to be safe.  Also, make sure the underlying paint has fully dried for several days before over painting or that can cause problems as well regardless of the types.

Yep, acrylic over enamel is ok - in addition, if you put a heavy enough wash over the enamel, you can use acrylic varnish over the whole lot without incident!

Thats fine then... Im only testing a technique on an old wing piece but i thought i was 100% acrylic now and had a panic when i realised the rattle can in my hand was in fact enamel...
