Thanks a lot! In "fact", this 4-engined single-seater was scheduled to win the Schneider² Trophy in 1937 for sure, very sure! ;)
(No need to build it actually, requiring 2 kits of MC-72 + 2 kits of single-float donators...)
This was just a Photopaint way to celebrate your model, so nice by itself already! making us dream...

This one already looked spectacular... Now it's double spectacular!

The concept of double fuselage planes always confuses me though. I can never figure out who's driving the thing! What about a modified version with the cockpit in the middle between those sleek engines and floats?
Thanks!

Greg

Here, the double fuselage has a single pilot (one fuselage is empty, tanks only).
But you are right, I may try to play with a version "à la P-38"... ;) celebrating even more ericr's model.

Here it is:

They said "will it win? if we build it", but I fear (with the increased drag) the final answer has been No ??? ;)

excellent !
with a view from the top, we could see how to build one ;
but we could also imagine the shape of the not shown part  ;)

and winning is not the question : participating is the real objective !  ;D

Speaking of which... Tophe, do you do requests? :)

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm hoping ericr doesn't mind.  I have a plan to build some float planes from the film Porco Rosso... including the imaginary security planes:

but I could really use something that looks like a schematic to follow.  Is that something you'd be interested in?
Thanks!

I have invented trigonometric Tools to interpretate a slanting view into a 3-view, that may help, yes. Maybe start a topic about that in the Profile/pixels part, and me and others could help you. ???

my older brother is a teacher in sport, with the highest diploma in France ("agrégation"), he says the opposite: "it is important to win but it is not enough, the goal is to humiliate the opponent!". Lord, I prefer your shy way, smiling... ;)

You are right: no need of two single-float kits to give proper floats. With 2 MC-72, you would have 4 acceptable floats (2 to chose from), and no need of little external floats.

right ! I am already on the track of a pair of MC72s ... maybe I'll wait a bit for the salary to arrive on my bank account  ;)
