C&C Tiberium Sun - NOD Venom 1/48 - Finished
« on: April 11, 2013, 07:42:54 AM »
Ok, kicked this off to get on the C&C vehicle bandwagon.

I have done a GDI Orca before, so now it was time for the NOD craft and the Venom looked to be the best choice.
What I am looking at getting is something like this

So after a first false start with a 1/72 Hind as a base I settled on a 1/72 Seahawk with its proboscis removed

After some hacking and slashing and filling and probing and shimming I ended up here
I did change the engine layout after the failed first attempt to a more rounded shape.. using Buccaneer External tanks actually.

After some hacking and slashing and filling and probing and shimming I ended up here with the current smoother shape.
Thence onto some paint work to get the under lying red colouring seen

It is not exactly like the artwork, nor the game avatar.. but to me it gets the right vibe. Only the finished paint will tell

It also has lights in the engines and cockpit, which will still hopefully work after all this.

You certainly captured the flavor of that CGI Orca, buzzbomb!

It just amazes me how you can put so many diverse parts together and come up with something that looks so natural!

The lights still work!

C&C got their names all wrong!  :icon_surprised: THIS one should've been called Orca. I mean, it certainly looks the part: flippers, a fluke, the whole fuselage looks suitably cetacean...

Awesome work!  :)
