Avro Leicester

I was so impressed by that Avro Doncaster (6 engined Lincoln/Lancaster version ) at ModelExpo last weekend that I rushed home, threw together some Lancasters and now I present - the Avro Leicester - an earlier version 6 engined long range bomber in a mid-war Far East bomber command scheme.

Love it, looks really good and those extra long wings suit it down to the ground. And you say you "threw it together"? Excellent.  :)

I wish I knew how you do it, Les, I really do! ???

Brilliant work, & so fast it must have left scorch marks on your modelling bench! :D

Here's what it looked like Monday night..

It's wheels up in flying mode so I can hang it from my studio ceiling and it's not exactly comp standard... and it is a Lancaster afterall, one of life's "fall together" planes !   ;)

Wow, that is just terrific.  Not sure how you built it that quickly, but it looks great!
Best regards,

No undercarriage, no need to blend fuselage shape when extending so it's just cut and shut, wings only need a couple of grams of milliput to blend the wings where I joined them - and I'm not working off plans so it's open slather on dimensions.  ..and I was fueled by inspiration and alcohol !
That's pretty much the formula for a speed build !

Not only was that some wicked-fast work, but you ended out with a real gem, Uncle Les!

Love the sandy Far East scheme! The black undersides really make it pop!
