A24-17. The other Falcon.
« on: June 06, 2014, 12:18:33 AM »
I recently obtained this F16 as an unmade Hasegawa Special Edition F16A with extras from the collection of local modelling icon, the late Eric Sujecki. Inspired by both Eric's enthusiasm for RAAF subjects and from a print I acquired many years ago ( can't remember which RAAF base I stole it from) I  started this a couple of night's ago and wasn't going to bed until I got it finished (yeah - I can be obsessive like that)...
So here we are on Tuesday night:

and now ( 0214 Thursday) it looks like this !

Time to collapse - goodnight !  :icon_meditation:

Interesting, so that's what a RAAF F-16 would look like. :)

Surprised you didn't go for the usual 3-tone camo. ???

Sorry, neglected to mention that - 1/32

Trying to stay faithful to the framed "acquired print" in the background on the first pic... a lie with an ounce of truth n'all...   anyhow - there's always next week...   twin seater Falcon SEA scheme in Wild Weasel config takes my fancy...  but seriously, there's at least a Vampire, Starfighter, F14 & F15 and countless Mirages & Phantoms all in 1/32 already lined up in the schedule !!   ... so maybe the week after..  ;)

Very nicely done - I have often thought about doing an RNZAF F-16 ever since I heard that they insalled F-16 equipment into their A4's many years ago.
I'm just glad you didn't do a boring ol' gray F16 with Aussie markings on it - ie, just like the real F18's.  'yawn'...  ::)

That print looks to be part of the marketing effort of, at the time, General Dynamics - Fort Worth.  I'll have to check, but I think I can identify the artist, too, as I managed to catch a limited-run book of his work.

If you want to see the print up close and personal I have it on display at ModelExpo right now underneath the whiffy 1/32 objet d'art featured in this thread..  just look for the large scale jet aircraft open category.  and whilst there have a real good look at Eric Galliers' Mirage, Sea Venom & X-1..  eye candy at its finest.

I saw this at Expo and I have to say - WOW! It looked absolutely awesome in the plastic. I took a few snaps of it which I'll post later if they come out alright. That's the only down side to Expo - the lighting is terrible and non-conducive to photography

Thanks MH, sorry I didn't get to say hello as I was manning our club display table (24) when your demo was on so I didn't get to ID you.  I'll be behind the table tomorrow intermittently during the day - look for the pink table cloth directly ahead of the entry door- I'll have my IPMS tag on ( as will wifey Karen..)
