A small selection of previous WIFs
« on: January 07, 2014, 08:28:39 AM »
Hi again all

I was going through my photobucket albums last night and thought I would post some of my previous what-ifs here. This is the perfect forum for me as some of the other forums don't seem to like WIFs  much and prefer to be anal retentive about how many rivets there are and will whinge if the color scheme is out by a couple of degrees

So, first up, the Kiwi F22:

The RAF KC10 tanker:

The 1/72 Arctic SU-33:

and finally, the RNZAF Gnat (sorry, only have one pic of that and it has an A400 prop on it's back - used as a size comparison):

Well, that's all I have for the mo, but thanks for looking in

Kind regards
Si

Brilliant work on all!!  :-*  I may be a part time rivet counter and when I'm doing a 'real world' subject I'm just as guilty about paint colour, but I really love a good Whiff!!!  :-*

Good looking models Si, love the red cockpit lights in the KC10. First look at the Gnat I thought "wow, radical VTOL", but maybe later ....
Were going to be finished in 2020 BEFORE I start any da*!#d new ones - Maybe When Hell Freezes Over - again? - CF-IDS Wolverine; Douglas Mawson; Bubba Wants a Fishin' Rig; NA F-100

Against the Wall - Maton Dreadnought; Fender Telecaster; Epiphone Les Paul Stud

That's not a wiff, its a glimpse of the future when China's ambitions can no longer be ignored and the US has begun deploying the F-42 to replace the Strike Eagle and some Raptors as a supplement to the F-35H.  Surplus Raptors are provided to close allies who can not afford the F-35 or F-42

thanks very much for the kind posts guys - I'm glad they are appreciated :)
Unfortunately, I don't have any more WIF's planned for a while - I'm going to try my hand at doing a "real" subject next (after the carrier is done) - a BR52 in a winter camo scheme. Not to sure if you guys would want a WIP of that here as it's not exactly in keeping with the theme of the forum.  Not even sure I want to do a WIP on it either, come to think of it. At least with a WIF, if you screw up, you can say it's supposed to be like that..... ;D

LOL - if only that's what is was. Maybe a good idea for someone else to do?  ;)
OK, so a WIP may well be in order then. Are people interested in WW2 steam trains? I wasn't until I saw one at Melbourne Model Expo a couple of years ago. Since then, my interest has peaked :)

A sinister KC10 with tactical lighting ! I especially like the F22.  Excellent stuff all round.  :)

The KC-10 is really superb, from the color scheme to the lighting.

I bet that one turns a lot of heads!

Love those models... great work!

My take on "Real World" subjects and this place:

ALL models are WHIF's. A "Real World" subject just asks, "WHat IF a B-52 was 3' long and made of plastic?" :)

very true :)
Thank you very much guys. Yes, the KC10 gets people talking - some good, some not so good, but at least they're talkin ;)
