Title: Post '45 Tiger Force SEAC CAC P175NF & FAA Tigercat
Post by: uncle les on March 10, 2014, 06:28:26 PM
After reading the Tigercat entries here I went to the Monogram section of the stash, whipped out a sacrificial Tigercat and threw it together, then I thought "Merlin 85s would look good" so it got Anglicised and then I thought some Merlins would look good on a CACATAC so whipped one of them up, cast up a few more Merlins, found a radome in the spares parts facility and here's the start of a long range Lincoln escort and an Aussie night fighting island hopper.

OK- back to the action...  masking off, props on - time to head into the lounge, watch some telly and fossick around in the Commonwealth decal box.

Tigercat all but done - decal fixing, weathering, sealing can all wait until I go back out to the studio tomorrow or later in the week.

and now the CACATAC night fighter. Not so sure about the markings but my general attitude is to bang it out and if you don't like it - leave this one and do another.

Sudden feelings of inadequacy are flooding over me, Les, you don't screw around do you?  Here I thought you were sending your work out to have it printed up.  I had no clue you were running with the big dogs and had your own 3D printer ;)

As I said above, the man is a machine…or perhaps something in the fumes he is breathing in is setting him on hyperdrive!  Another two stunners. :) :)

OMG.  :o

I don't think I can ever build a F7F after seeing this Picasso of Propulsion Perfection.

And a Beaufighter of Brilliant Binomial Bladed Beauty.

I thank you for your alliterations there BG !  ( and cheers to the rest of you guys )
Yes it does look a little Beaufighterish - it is of course based on the serious CAC P175 proposal for an anti-tank aircraft that would have existed if Japanese tanks actually posed a threat in the latter yers of the war.
Here's one we cooked earlier:
