AZIMUT (Best Value Models)
« on: February 09, 2013, 06:49:54 AM »
This company is owned by Azimut out of France. They have some neat looking kits there. They use a donor kit,and make the conversion for it.

Every time you eat celery,an angel vomits in a gas station bathroom. Tanks rule. I know the load is late, but the voices tell me to pull over and clean the guns.

AZIMUT is now offering a 1:35th scale multi-media kit of the French 37 mm TR16 MODELE 1917 Infantry Gun used by France and other nations during WW1.

Some additional images of the model can be viewed at PMMS New Kit News: AZIMUT 10055 - 37mm TR16 infantry gun model 1916

There is a well known black and white image of this gun in use by American forces without the huge flash hiders on the muzzle.  I often wondered what the gun looked like as the image was always quite poor in quality and with this kit now available I can fully realize what the weapon looked like in that old photograph.  Very interesting infantry fire support weapon.

Put an armored roof over the passenger compartment and be done with it.  Six in the back might be a bit crowded.  Maybe four plus gunner and driver might be more practical.

I'm fairly sure I've seen what-ifs of an APC built from a Sd.Kfz. 234 that looked pretty similar to the design shown here.

Saw that - I am more interested in the comment "this new kit is the start of new serie deidcated to "PANZERWAFFE 46""...

Speaking of the SDKFZ 236 shown, I can imagine a version with a mortar set up in the rear.

I wonder what the center of gravity would be like on the Mowag with that FL 10 turret?

I'm really starting to like these guys.

Latest addition: 1/35 BVM35138 - 8 rad SPW SDKFZ 234/6 w/ XT-7 "Rotkappchen"
During WWII, Germans were innovative in developping numerous long range missiles but they also produced artillery guided rocket such as XT-7 "Rotkappchen". Few hundreds were manufactured by Ruhrsthal AG and deployed against soviet armor by lat 1944-45. Since the Sdkfz 234 is a well suited base to adapt anti tank weapons, it could have been fitted with XT-7 in the frameworks of the "Panzewaffe 46" projects.
Thus AZIMUT offers in the BEST VALUE MODELS range this 8 wheeled vehicle designated SDKFZ 234/6 which is a potential evolution of the SDKFZ 234 chassis. the model is based on Italeri/PUMA chassis combining Bronco/Sdkfz 221 turret armed with XT-7 "Rotkappchen" from RPM. Resin parts include an extended hull roof, a launching ramp with sight and fire control system. Additionnally a 8.8cm Panzerschreck is included for close combat.

Images etc via PMMS:

The turret etc has a lot of potential for other applications!

That is a neat idea - and the turret and deck could probably be easily adapted to the 251 halftracks, etc.
