...and "apophenia" correctly identified the landing gear setup as "trousers", not "spats".

Funny, I think I can recall some Stukas or something that had the actual wheel-covering part of their spats taken off (caked mud from the Russian steppes, methinks), but left the aerofoil housing around the struts---would those then be called "shorts" (or "stubbies" for you down-under types)??  :))

Well, knee-breeches are culottes in French. So would that make retractable gears sans-culottes;D

 I am profoundly ashamed of myself for not praising this beauty sooner-though I have yet to start
 my own IMAM Ro 67 build, this gooses me with the notion that there's a world of
 possibilities in tri-motor fighters...
