Australia’s HMAS Canberra, recently on exercise in the South China Sea, helped rescue 3 sailors marooned on a pacific island in Micronesia. ADF helicopter crew spotted the SOS in the sand.

On the 20th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 1960, the Royal Air Force put up this formation. It was intended to show just how far technology had changed Fighter Command, in just 20 years. The aircraft from left - Lightning, Javelin, Hunter, Meteor, Spitfire and Hurricane.
