Title: LF 3-View of CF-100 Mk.3
Post by: kitnut617 on August 07, 2016, 11:02:39 PM
As it says, I need a good 3-View of the CF-100 Mk.3. I'm going to convert one of my recent CF-100 acquisitions into a Mk.3. I've found a fairly good profile which shows the different variants all in the same scale, but I need a top view.

Robert: I went through my various CF-100 and RCAF books and the only top/ bottom view I found was in Pat Martin's RCAF Aircraft Finish and Markings 1947-1968 on pages 119, 121 and 122. I do not have a scanner so the best I can do is a photocopy, iPhone photo or go to Staples and get then to scan it for me.

Thanks Carl, I've got that book too, but the drawings of it seem to be a generic outline for it as it's used for all the variant's markings.

I'll have another look at it though and see if it will help out. I was hoping there was something as detailed as the side profile I found.  Which incidentally, if the drawing is scaled to the Hobbycraft Mk.4 kit, matches very well with the kit.

Looking through the Milberry book it looks to me like
it's symmetrical in all quadrants along the centerline,
so a sideview gives you the same info as a topview.
The Mk.4/5 nose is definitely symmetrical along the centerline
and the forward fuselage cross-section is circular on all marks.
Looks to me like a straight-forward turning job.

Thanks Jon, I was thinking I would have to go along that route. I just wanted a top view to confirm a few things. Carl has managed to come up with a few things that I'm pursuing.
