^ When they do the Super Tucano in 1/72, I'll buy half a dozen easily.  >:D Warts (inaccurate belly area) and all.

One thing I don't get is the bit that people needn't worry about the little mould line running across the canopies. Even if the Super Tucano didn't have a antenna or det cord there, you'd still get the mould line. The Super Tucano has a blown canopy and the toolmakers need to make a two part mould to allow for the undercuts. So, you either have an easy to remove mould line or an inaccurate canopy. Simples.

And the blown canopy is really obvious on this aircraft. A canopy from a single part mould would look just silly.

I saw several of these kits on the shelf today and was tempted to take a couple home with me but decided to wait until Emil has his next sale or a better price is offered by another source.

Hobby Boss 1:48th scale EMB-314 Super Tucano (kit number 81727) in box review at CyberModeler.

I may have to pick one of these up and put it in MARPAT for a nice little COIN/CAS platform for my beloved Corps.

The latter depending on whether one is tasteful old money or nouveau poseur.  ;D

An almost was:

As for other deas, the EMB-314 is actually a contender for the RAAF PC-9 replacement so you could do a pure trainer version.

another idea might be some sort of race plane...

Just had a thought flash! What would the Super Tucano look like on floats? Double or single?

See if you could sell one to Justin Beiber. I hear he likes things that are expensive and go fast.

Switching away from Tucanos for a moment, here are HobbyBoss's latest releases:

1/700 USS Iwo Jima LHD-7 - Note that whilst the box art shows F-35s, it would appear that the kit doesn't include them unfortunately:

1/48 Messerschmitt Me 262 B-1a

1/35 Soviet T-37TU Command Tank:

Some new releases by HobbyBoss

These two are of particular interest to me:

1/35 Hungarian 44M TAS:

1/48 Ka-27 Helix:

I wonder if we can expect a 1/48 Ka-29 in the future (fingers crossed) - after all, they have already done it in 1/72.

1/35 Hungarian 44M TAS?  I wonder where they got the drawings for that?  Only one built and it was destroyed along with the factory and the design office when it was bombed...  Interesting design though.  I could see the twin engines being replaced with something more powerful ASAP.

Better test shot of the 2A4M CAN on their FB page. Also a French VBL 4x4 in the works. Will post pic here when I get home if nobody else has by then.
