Gim-10 Боксер
« on: April 28, 2017, 03:10:52 AM »
Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening Comrades of the Rodina!!!

The Bothan G2 organization after downloading the pictures of the Gim-12 went back and re-viewed the contents of the memory card as something did seem not right. What they found a hidden/encrypted folder. The password to access the images was: "It's a Trap!"

This is what they found:

It's described as the Gim-10 Боксер but there were no other details. It's a two seat, twin engine turboprop.

The 3rd team of Bothans are chomping at the bit and are ready to go in and get more pictures and details (and also die in the process) on what the role of the Gim-10 is. It could be used for ground attack, torpedo bomber or a high speed vodka transport for the Senior Politburo members. Some G2 personal speculate that it might be a competitor to the Tu-91.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

:-* Nice Boxer model! I hope I could add a Zwilling version of it when finished (with the Soviet equivalent to PhotoPaint software).

Ditto

High speed vodka transport for the Senior Politburo members seems most probable.  Small enough to land at their hidden party resorts too.

Comrade!  Your cynicism is disturbing.  Be careful with what you say, lest you find yourself banished to the stash gulags building Starfix and Unicraft kits all day...

Comrade GTX, there are worse fates.  Certain "injection molded" kits available in the late 1990's came with so much flash, you swore you were building a vac-form in getting all the parts ready; I stuffed an example of one of those back in the box and have not looked at it again.

Another fine example of the prodigious work your design bureau is developing to counter the threats our forces face in ensuring the continued success of our workers' paradise!

As per schedule (that is I am delivering it late), here is the Gim-10, Bort 25.

The Politburo decided that it would be suited for naval attack vs a high speed Vodka transport.

I really enjoyed building this one. It was fairly painless compared to other mash-ups I have done.

Bill of materials (1/72 unless otherwise noted) :
- Revell Me 1099 fuselage
- Revell Ar 240 wings
- Revell 1/144 Tu-92 props
- Minicraft Mig-23 nose gear
- Scratch built Torpedo shapes
- Revell 250 Kg bombs modified
- Decals from decal box

Awesome and very Soviet looking airplane. The engines look great and the Me P.1099 fuselage looks the part.

Fine example of post war top performance prop planes.  :-*
Likely retired to high speed vodka transport in later years.  Looks good for short field ops at politburo hideaways.
