Planning on a "what-if" using the 1/48 Academy Spitfire Mk. XIVe.
The plan is to have longer wings with more ordnance :)
However, a bit of realism has crept into my idea ...
Longer wings on the Spitfire Mk. XIVe (in my uninformed opinion) will result in a longer and broader fuselage?
Sticking with the original powerplant on the Spitfire Mk. XIVe.
Also going with a revised landing gear arrangement.
Thanks for making BtS so great

Longer wings will not necessarily result in a broader fuselage, though weight and balance with full stores might require a longer one. I would probably go with an inward-retracting main landing gear to improve ground handling.

Either a longer fuselage or perhaps a larger vertical stabilizer to control yaw? Just guesstimating.

Check out "Erryplanes by Pert time" on this site, around page 2. He hjas some ideas on long wing spits.
