Thanks to our man in "New Zealand" I get the best / latest G2 on what's happening in the NZ warbird world. Thanks ZY!
This is a montage from various sources.
Here is a photo from a quick join up during "Flight 1" of PZ474 yesterday (2nd photo). Is amazing that Steve Hinton could quickly join up for a couple of photos during the very first flight, shows just how well the aircraft performed straight out of the box. We spoke about a quick join but the Mossie is very complex machine so it is important they get on with the flight and go over a long list of checks.
The job of the chase plane is to check for issues visually and be called in for checks by the Mossie crew if need be and as it is such a busy time so I was not expecting a quick join up.
So well done Avspecs and everyone involved in the build, to see 474 perform so well is not surprising due to the restoration teams eye for detail and in-depth knowledge of the type but to see the first two flights of this beautiful aircraft made for an amazing day so thanks to you all!
