Honey! Sorry but you won't be able to park car in the garage anymore!

Honey! Sorry but you won't be able to park car in the garage anymore!
And the reason for that is after I buy the kit, I too will be living in the garage along with my stash.

B-2 Spirit coming soon ...

I'm glad to see some CAD for the B-2, there will be a lot of excited builders out there. Looks good!
-
It's been over a quarter-century since I worked on the B-2, but I can already see errors from those pictures. Mind you, you would have to be intimately familiar with the aircraft to spot them, but I can claim that (especially the #1 aircraft which I am very intimately familiar with). OTOH, none of them are particularly visible, so no harm, no foul.

Might not production aircraft be different to the prototype?
-
Not in the areas I know about, I've seen aircraft #2-4 also and they all were the same.

Gah! More fantasy Panzers.

Gah! More fantasy Panzers.
Yes. And is a good one.

Gah! More fantasy Panzers.
Wonder if World of Tanks will be offering those things as DLC? :)

To model company: How about a US Army '46 counterpart to these huge German tanks ?
Figure shipped as a bare hull "kit" due to weight for final assembly in Europe or wherever.
Early cold war monster tank a counter part to SAC getting big bombers and USN getting Midway and Forrestal class carriers. ;)

Perhaps a modified M103 as a first effort? Then on to "bigger and better" efforts.;)

I think the cheapest counter to these tanks would be a Tallboy bomb (maybe something half the size). I'm doing a project of a De Havilland DH 101, which was a much larger Napier Sabre powered Mosquito fast bomber (see below), a variant that I'm building I'm calling a Tallboy bomber.
On a side note, I helped Tony Butler with determining the actual size of the thing and he has added my name into a book he has written.

@Robert (KitNut617) - Since you already have a TV-Guided Tallboy in your arsenal, why not add a Laser Guided Tallboy! :)

Bah!! Go the good ol' ASM-A-1 Tarzon style:

Nice idea Jeff, but did they have lasers back in the late 40's though.
Thinking out loud now, if they used Tallboys to sink the Tirpitz, maybe a half sized one would do the trick here. Does anyone know if there's 1/144 scale Tallboys on the market ?

I think I saw one of those done to scale on Shapeways website

Indeed:

Click on image to go to dedicated page - comes in 1/72 and 1/48. One could always use a 1/72 one on a 1/48 aircraft too. ;)
-
pre-ordered this cool walker in 35th...turret might find its way onto something more 'real world' though.

-
Is that a new tool kit Carl, I've got a Revell one in the stash somewhere ---
-
To the best of my knowledge, yes it is Robert.
I have The Kiwi Resin's 1/72 conversion to the A-12.
Now Kiwi has also announced an 1/72 A-12 kit. Not sure how they are building it.

I wonder what is meant by 'Long Altitude' and it says turboshaft but I can't see any propeller or ducted fan anywhere ---

My advice: ignore the words...
-
Well what is it though, doesn't look like any pics I've seen before of the A-12

It's my turn to say: wrong scale!

I wonder what is meant by 'Long Altitude' and it says turboshaft but I can't see any propeller or ducted fan anywhere ---
It is Russ-lish?
-
It's my turn to say: wrong scale!
I can't hear you...
-
Obviously something of an extraction. The intakes render it subsonic and the projections on the wingtips do not help its RCS unless they hold some "cloaking device" or similar technology. I think I'll pass.
-
To me it has potential as a sci-fi fighter
-
"Long Altitude"...for flat earthers?
-
To me it has potential as a sci-fi fighter
I'll agree there. 'Twould take some modifications, but could be a good basis for one.
-
Yep, definitely see potential for sci-fi project. I'll list it as a "maybe," after I get a Flying Dorito A-12.
-
I could see it either as an accompaniment for the F-302 in Stargate SG1 or perhaps as a Martian fighter.
-
To me it has potential as a sci-fi fighter
Obviously. Just look at the name. Turboshaft Engine Interceptor - it's a TEI-Fighter! ;D :icon_beer:
Actually, some TIE Interceptor solar panels wouldn't look to bad on this.
-
It IS a little more streamlined than the usual Imperial product...I think "Long Altitude" is a mistranslation of "High Altitude" ( Stratospheric, donchaknow. )

For some reason, I see this in Swiss markings and scheme similar to this:
Maybe a backstory, of the design team escape into Switzerland at the end of the war and continue their efforts under Swiss control.
-
Note that box says length is way greater than wing span. Hmmm....

Thanks, Greg. Just what I needed: ANOTHER prototype to fall in love with and have a great need to model.
EDIT: What’s that? The only kit available is on Shapeways? OH GOOD

Update on the Modelcollect website for the A-12:
http://www.modelcollect.com/a-12-usnavy-avenger-ii (http://www.modelcollect.com/a-12-usnavy-avenger-ii)
Looks like an initial "suggested" price of $79.99, but no mention of an actual release date yet.
Aeroscale also had some additional CAD:

Looks suited for 1/72 scale-o-rama !
-
Hmmm...choices, choices...
- Operational night fighter scheme such as this one:
(http://www.inpayne.com/models/luft46/e583-06.jpg)? - Captured Soviet scheme?
- Captured British or American scheme?
- Swiss as per previous pages?
- Smuggled to Argentina scheme?
BTW, in case anyone was interested, here is some more showing the crew, engine and weapons placement:

Modelcollect seem on a real Wehrmacht'46 bent. I wonder what else they have in the pipeline?

If someone here has their B-2A, I have a question. On the real aircraft, in the forward inboard corner of each main landing gear bay, is a vertically mounted APU inside a circular, except where it attaches to the inboard bay buikhead, fireshroud; doe the kit depict this? For reference, that triangular panel just outboard of the engine inlets is the door for the APU exhaust.

Don't have the kit but you may get your answer here (http://www.modelcollect.com/usaf-b-2a-spirit-stealth-bomber)

Yes, I've got my answer. They do not depict the APU at all and their markings barely show the outline (and that wrongly) of the APU exhaust doors on the upper surface, let alone any detail to depict the doors in the closed position nor any option for displaying them in the open position. It definitely does not persuade me to spend good money on this kit. I lived with the design of that aircraft for 6-1/2 years with some heavy overtime involved; I feel that I do know the aircraft reasonably well.

I've got two of the Testors kits (one built) already, but this might tempt me to buy another, just for the bombay detail alone ---
And those B-52's are tempting too, but I think the eight 1/72 kits I have already is more than enough. Interesting to see they have done an 'F' though, one of the kits I have is ear-marked to be an 'F' and I was almost ready to cast up some nacelles before we did our house move (now almost 12 years ago) but somehow the project got buried in the pile ---

Never understood the fascination of some people with "double cannon" tanks. Unless AA or Rcl weapons, it seems rather pointless to me. I think they would be better off spending their money on a good autoloader to up the ROF of the vehicle...

1/48 A-12. Can scale-o-rama up or down as you please.
-
Interesting comment... ???
I noticed. I suspect there's a story there we haven't heard.
-
The one kit I have from them does not fit well and has soft details. Perhaps this is to change that?
-
Well, I noticed some missing obvious details on their B-2A, so I can only hope.

There's whiffery potential galore there. May have to add one to the collection.
-
I built the Planet 1/72 resin version last century. I then reconstructed the FW 1000x3 in the plane builder part of X-Plane. It flew well, but reversing the winglet position (so they pointed up) greatly improved the maneuverability. Too bad this is 1/48. It's a relatively small plane so it could be rescaled to 1/72 but probably too small to scale up to 1/32 or 1/35
