Starwars kits
« on: December 28, 2019, 03:26:11 AM »
Hi all for Christmas my kids asked what I wanted and I said surprise me, get me something  I've not built before.

They didn't disappoint I got these

I've never built one of these kits before or this subject matter.

The kits look really good (although I wouldn't really know how detailed they are)

The instructions look a bit basic.

No idea what to do with these kits, will have to do some research.

There are several variations on the TIE fighter. TIE bomber, Darth Vader version, etc. X wing and snowspeeder I’m not aware of much variation other than the Poe Dameron one. I say go all whiff on it and see what happens!

Some possible inspiration:

For the X-Wing:

For the TIE Fighter:

For the Snow Speeder, maybe something akin to the markings on the A-Wing:

I've always thought the Snowspeeder would look good in Il-2 colours. Camo-scheme with worn winter camo. Swap the Snowspeeder's tow cable gun for a 12.7mm UBT tail gun.

All those AT-ATs and AT-STs in Wehrmacht colours could use a couple of ventilation holes!  :icon_vader:

I'm liking this idea.  Maybe a scheme like one of these:
