Title: 1/72 Arado Ar.555
Post by: Spey Phantom on June 23, 2013, 01:18:17 AM
with the GB now extended, i can see fit to enter a second entry.
the model im gonna build is the Arado Ar (E) 555.

so far i have only removed the 2 fuselage/wing halves from its sprues.
i dont know what color scheme to use yet, might go with the OOB scheme or the 2-tone green or green/brown splinter camo.

EDIT:
i kinda have my mind set on this scheme  8)

the parts in the fuselage still need a thin coat of black, im nog goint to detail the inse, as youre not going to see much of it once its put together.

You're going to enjoy this build! This kit is a lot of fun to put together. Don't forget the nose weights!

You got it off to a fine start.  :)
Like to build one as a 50s-60s SAC bomber.

with less then a week to go before the GB deadline, i have to get cracking if i want to finish in time.
the fuselage is pretty much complete, and the windows are also ready for fitting as soon as the paintworks done.
engines have also been put together, awaiting paint.

if i can get the landinggear finished today, the rest should go pretty easy.
pictures to follow later today  8)

Like the colour scheme.

Certainly is a model with lots of whiffer potential there

Agree on color scheme.  Wouldn't thought of it.  Works well.  :)
Wheel well & bomb bay color works well too.
Using bottom color between main top colors is neat technique.  :)

Looking good.  I like this paint job. It would work well over the spring/early summer north European landscape.
