Aufklarungsgerat Trager und Werfer 38t. My plan is for a Pz 35t-based machine which will carry two As 292 reconnaissance drones and mount a compressed-air catapult launcher to launch an As 292. Recovery would be by normal wheeled landing. It will be built on a Pz35t chassis. The As 292s will be scratchbuilt, as will the catapult.
It's an ambitious plan, and I hope to be able to pull it off.
BTW, forgive my inability to type an umlaut, and feel free to correct my German nomenclature. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome.

I have been making some progress on this project. I am NOT an armor builder, and I have never before built a kit with rigid, individual track links. I botched them pretty badly, but I'm hoping the tracks will not be the focal point of the build.
I replaced the turret with a small "conning tower" structure made from the nose section of a 1/72 PB4Y. The catapult structure is basically complete, just needs supporting structure and compressed air piping. I have scratched an air compressor and tank, and have two barrels to carry fuel for the As 292s.
Still to do: boom crane for lifting the As 292 to the catapult and building the As 292 themselves.
I'm not happy with the tracks, but otherwise I'm liking where this is going. I start a 1.5 week trip tomorrow, so little work will be done before the 11th.

Which 38(t) kit are you using? If it's 1/35, there are aftermarket tracks that can be used in a pinch, or if the error can be moved to the upper runs, just add a skirt to hide them.
Sounds liek a great idea - are you going to add a German TV display as well?

It's the Revell Germany kit in 1/35. The problem is not the tracks themselves, but the alignment of the drive sprockets and running gear. And since I used cyano-acrylic glue there's probably nothing I can really do now. I do appreciate the suggestion though.
No German TV display. The As292 did still, wet photography only. An accompanying van for photo-development darkroom and photo interpreters would be a good project.

The track doesn't look that bad - you can always break any bad spots and realign the section (unless it's good and solidly glued to the wheels).
The air compressor looks good!

It is a Pz.Kpfw. 35(t), to use the Czech LT vz. 35's German nomenclature.
Still, the LT vz. 35 was in use from 1936 to about 1950, in one form or another.

Quite right! My relative lack of knowledge of armor prevented me from noticing that I had used the wrong numeral. My apologies for the confusion!

I finished the AgTW 35t. A few changes from the original plan: only 1 As 292 (because it would have been a real challenge to scratch two that were identical, and also because the Pz 35t was really small!). Also, no boom crane, since the As 292 weighed under 100 pounds. I'm quite happy with how everything turned out. Standing by for comments!

This is way cool. Nice Alternate-WWII where drones became common place. Opens up a world of opportunities for land, sea and air drone designs.

Excellent work! That drone looks very believable and the compressor came out great. The tracks looks good, too. How long before someone re-kits this?

Thanks guys. It seems as though some of you might be under the impression that I "made up" the As 292. In reality, it was a real aircraft and about 100 were built in the "real world." Do an internet search for "As 292" and you can judge for yourself how well I did on scratch building it.
