Jeremak's profiles
« on: December 17, 2011, 09:34:46 PM »
I think, that it's time to show something mine. But I'm a bit lazy in last time, so firstly, I will show you some unseen profiles, that I've made as a "offshot" during making some older.
First: "Joint European Agressor Unit" EF Typhoon. Markins similarity to Ghadaffi Libia roundels is fully intentional. Blank provided by GTX (if I remember corectly).

Another Eurofighter, now in some "retro colorful" german scheme:

And next retro-Typhoon: In 2014 we will have a one century aniversary of WW1 start: turning point in european history. Maybe commemorative scheme on any planes?

I diged up old EE Lightning file, and made new scheme, based on that "genius inspiration moment", we all know:

Backstory: by some reason, British India goes on different road to independece. It didn't divide, and remained united federation, with stronger ties with Britain, but self-governance like "white dominions". So, I've played with indian roundel to make it similar to RAAF, RNZAF, and RCAF roundel.

Another profile, from "Congress Kingdom" alternate timeline, that you may know from "old forum", but I still work on it. I have a text oabaout aviation in this timeline, but in polish, so... translation consume time, and need to be made good. But maybe?

Austrian Albatros in very generic scheme. But what is most whiffy here: red-white-red triange, based on modern hungarian roundel. In this TL Austro-Hungary is much more federalised, so Hungarian units mark their planes with red-white-green triangle, and Czech: red-white-blue. but crosses are still carried as a fast id markings, against "freindly fire" form Germans.

And now, something different: "Rosomak" (Volverine) APC/AFV. It's polish licence version of Finnish AMV Patria vehicle. It's serving in Afghanistan, and gained very good opinion due firepower, and survivability.

One of the first vehicles send to Afghanistan.  Due its colors, Rosomaks were even called "Green Devils" by Talibans (or it is a newspaper hoax).

Now most of them were repainted int sand colour and carry additional armour and anti-RPG net screens on sides.

Now some whiffs:

Vehicle in colours used on polish tanks in 1939. For me, it could work in Afghanistan.

With this amount of money payed for increase of security of vehicles and soldiers, electronic devices, and flame resistant uniforms in Multicam i wonder why no one tried to use dazzle camouflage on vehicles in Afghanistan? It's cheap, and many of IEDs are fired manually by distant operator. Just like torpedoes by u-boot captain...

If not dazzle, maybe more high-tech, digital camouflage? On this one is painted my "UBC" pattern in it's "brown" version. Full tilt of this you can see here: http://fav.me/d4r6ia9

Brace yourself: real world profile.

Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, used in 303th "Kościuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron. This particular machine was transfered from 615th Squadron to 303th in August 1940, and during Battle of Britain, squadron commander Witold Urbanowicz scored on it 9 air victories: 26.9.1940 He-111, 27.9.1940 Bf-110 15./LG1, 27.9.1940: Bf-109, Ju-88 5./KG77, Ju-88 5./KG77, 30.9.1940: Bf-109 II./JG53, Bf-109 II./JG53, Do-17 III./KG3, Bf-109 Stab/JG26. In January 1941, after unit conversion on Spitfires, plane was transfered to 253 Sq., in August 1941 to 55 OTU, and finally crashed in April 1943.

Ansaldo Balilla, same unit, 1920.

And in peactime colours. This planes was called "flying coffins" due poor quality, and numerous accidents.

SPAD XIII C1, used during, and after war.

Another "flying coffin" from mid-twenties: SPAD 51:

PZL P.7, produced in Poland, one of the first all metal fighters in the world

And its succesorr, main polish fighter during September 1939 campaing, P.11c

Another Hurricane, this time from this timeline: http://jeremak-j.deviantart.com/gallery/39973021#/d3iag8h

So it's sucessor of this biplane:

Some short backstory: after events covered with map (inland Syria + Transjordan as a independent Hashemenite Kingdom after 10 years mandate, something like Iraq), Syria became playing on two fronts, using Britain against France in issues of "shore Levant", and France against Britain in issues of Iraq. In 1940 "Greater Syria" became more pro-british to try get some bits of Vichy controled territory. But Levant sooner than in real life changed side (with big Syria on back... very propable). Without Iraq coup de etat, Syrians could be used as a guard of transit lines in Syria itself and Iraq, and also syrian air contingent, on worn "BoB veteran" aircrafts fighted over Creta and Dodecanese from bases on Cyprus. Later it would be reequiped with fighter-bomber versions of Hurricane, and maybe some tactical, or torpedo bombers...

Recently, I've made something different: something relatively modern, and big: Ilyushin Il-76T. Three profiles of it:
Alternate history tsarist Russia Il, in white-blue colour scheme:

And two polish planes:
First, a pre-1989 markings. Of course, if Poland would get this planes, they would be painted in "civilian" "white with blue strip" colour scheme, but I've painted it with more "tactical" colours, like An-26s

And more modern, "airlift to Afghanistan" era grey colours, but lighter, than most of dark NATO transport planes:

Back from grave... without hope: I just stopped drawing profiles, sometimes try to get something back, but not on bigger scale. This one have some time:
Backstory: generic IFV project from late 60ties. Based on longer Strv-103 hull with gas turbine and diesel replaced by soviet flat opposing piston diesel.

"TG-6". APC version, used mainly as a command vehicle, mortar carrier, or base for other special versions.

"BTG-6": IFV version. Crew: driver, and gunner/commander in single-person turret similar to AAV-7 turret. Armed with 23 mm automatic gun (like used in Shilka), can externally carry single ATGM. Inside would fit 7 soldiers: one behind driver, and 6 in 2 rows, sitting face to face.

BGR-6: Combat Recon Vechicle. Two-crew turret with same 23 mm gun as IFV. Additional 4th crew member, radioman, or special equipment operator (like WMD detectors) can be placed right of driver (where commander sit in real-life Strv-103, or turret is placed in BTG-6 IFV.). Place behind turret with back doors is retained for carring small infantry team, or additional supplies.

WPP-6: tank destroyer. Turret based on BGR-6, with box carring two ATGMs on left side, that can be reloaded from inside. Features of CRV version (possibility for carring 4th crew member, back doors) are also in this variant.

Suprise, suprise. Today something different: space station.
US space station made timeline without Challanger disaster, in second half of 80'ties as a competitor for late Saluts and Mir and stopgap before "full scale" Freedom station. It wouldn't be permanently occupied, but oriented on month-long visits by shuttle with Spacelab and external pallets in payload bay. Inspired by this study:
http://www.astronautix.com/s/scienceandaspaceplatform.html
http://www.pmview.com/spaceodysseytwo/station/sld005.htm

Phase I: Power Module. Free-flyer with solar panels, radiator, gyros, docking port and other equipment, allowing for longer stays on orbit by shuttles, no longer limited by their own fuel cells.

Phase II: Pressurized node, and replaceable external pallet. Station is still unmanned, pallets can be leaved on station for long duration experiments, and later taken back to Earth

Phase III: Airlock with gas tanks. Allowing easier spacewalks and external pallets during multi-week visits with Spacelab module. Whole pressurized science end living space is still limited to shuttle cabin, Spacelab module and relatively small node.

Phase IV: Habitation Module. Additional living space: toilet, hygiene and kitchen "corners", space for sleeping.

Phase V: Laboratory Module 1. First of two pressurized science modules, used for example as a place for "leave behind" experiments, profiting form fine microgravity (not interupted by crew moving around) between shuttle visits.

Final look, with second laboratory:

Well, I made a series of profiles of S-70 Black Hawk in polish colours. I'll propably split this into two posts.
So, here we have part one: military ones:

Pre-production/testing example in two colour "tropical" camouflage.

"Medusa" was used as a name for paints used in painting polish military aircrafts and helicopters from 60ties to 80ties. Here we have example of such scheme, used in real life on Mi-2 and Mi-8 during 80ties and 90ties.

"Desert Storm era" wraparound scheme with still colourfull checkerboard, but not so bright other markings.

"all over green" scheme, based on modern look of Polish Army Aviation helicopters, but with a twist: low-vis markings.

Plus a bonus:

Replacement for shown in this thread San Escobar UH-1. Here in colours of tax administration special unit.
