Slowly getting this finished. Here it is mostly painted, with parts still (mostly) held together. I can't push the wheels on the axle because it would be very difficult to remove them.

Side view with a 1/35 3D scan figure from ReedOak. The figure looks great, but he's a little short in 1/35:

Top view of the cargo area. The larger diamond pattern looks OK, I think. It needs some paint touchup:

Front view with the light guards:

Instrument panel. It's a mix of the Argo IP and my own:

Coming along nicely, Frank! 8)

Bob (Well? He looks like one! ::)) appears to be in proportion to the vehicle to me.

Fairly confident there are short, round people in the world. Pretty sure I've met some. ;)

Thanks, Guy! Bob (or Robert, since he's French) works out to around 1.72M (5'8") so I guess he's in the normal range. I like his general demeanor/attitude, though.

5' 8" sounds reasonable to me, depending on what shoes I'm wearing, I'm either 5' 8" or 5' 9" and, while I am not as round as that figure, I do have a "spare tire".

Other than cleaning the windows and some cargo and door choices, I think I'm all but done with this model.

I named it the Theseus 8x8 because if you look at what I stared with, almost all the parts (except for the lower chassis pan) have been replaced by 3D printed parts.

I gave it very little weathering - mostly dust on the tires and some dirt smears:

Here it is with the door tacked on:

TBH, I like it more without the door (I've seen pictures of the Argus 8x8 tooling around without doors). I spent a lot of time on the windows, too!

Not much cargo right now. It's all Value Gear resin, except for the two Meng water cans. The winch in the front is from my Land Rover build:

The steel plate in the back was inspired by Tiking's article over at Armorama. Not as realistic as Charles' work, but it came out OK considering I spent about 10 minutes on it. His article is very helpful:

Here's a front view with the inspector. Bob is currently awaiting painting. The headlight reflectors were done with Molotow chrome from their refill bottle. There were going to be plastic bulbs in the headlamps... I forgot to add them in. The "glass" for the headlamps is from the crimped section of one of the Space:1999 parts bags; it looked just right:

Console detail. The larger monitor above the control column is for the rear view camera/cargo light:

Side view with the Inspector. The guy just won't give anyone a break:

Thanks for looking!

Rescale to 1/35 was right call.   So fits with 1/35 figures and gear.  Looking practical.  Must be real.

Rumour has it than inside every RedOak figure is a modeller's soul that was traded for skills in photoetch.

Here's Bob - in progress. I wanted to add the Dead Kennedys t-shirt before giving it the final coats/detailing:

back:

I have the same t-shirt (although not in Xtreme Xtra Large). I was a fan of the Dead Kennedys in my "yoot"

I think I'm done with this.

Here's Bob and the Inspector. The Inspector seems displeased with Bob's attire, Bob is not impressed with the Inspector's opinions:

I didn't add any new cargo - just the Value Gear lumps and cardboard box, two Meng water jugs and a Meng instrument case:

Thanks for looking! Now I can get rid of the pile of prints I didn't use. If anyone wants the 1/48 Amphicat from the Space 1999 kit (and they're in the US) let me know.

Looks excellent Frank! From his expression, I'm guessing that Bob isn't going to lose any sleep over the  Inspector's critique  ;)

Came out really well, Frank!

I can just see this being like the Mr Bean skit shows that used to air on the box, with the Inspector being a bit like the blue Reliant Regal & Bob being the Mr Bean equivalent.

Thanks guys. I think The Inspector would look more like Rowan Atkinson if he had a goofier look.

I think I was channeling this - Gecko Models British ATMP only with one extra wheel per side.

Bob looks a little stoned...

He also looks a bit like Simon Pegg's bulky cousin...

 Great looking build, Frank.
