Pretty sure it will come out alright.
My thoughts on this GB (in which I so far do not have an idea.... yet)

Step 1. Start with boat shape
Step 2. Add stuff.
Step 3. Repeat Step 2 until space on Step 1 is full.

I've decided it'll be powered by the 6-cylinder flat-head engine from a Bandai 1/48th M3A1 half-track.
I'll have to build engine mounts and stuff.

Jon,

What would the displacement be on that engine scaled up to 1:32/1:35?  I have a 4-cylinder engine from a 1:35th scale Jeep would work or if you want to go larger, the engine from one of the Tamiya CCKW kits.  Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks Jeff, but it's more a matter of looks right in this case. 
The Bandai engine plus trans is about 1.25" long.
:)
Displacement probably roughly around 240+ in3. If I did the quickie math right.  ;D

Decided it is going to be 1/48th.  :)

Not a lot of progress, basic engine assembly done w/added copper prop shaft, center prop shaft from Airfix 1/72 RAF Rescue Launch
added to outside (the Airfix kit is being built as a twin-engine craft), first parts of the engine bearers.

Just for giggles the boat and the RAF launch side-by-side, the 1/35th boat is about 20' long real size, so you can see that
the 1/72nd 65' Launch scale-o-rammed to 1/35th would be a fairly small boat in real world terms. Oddly enough the
transoms of the two are almost the same size, that of the RAF launch being @1/8" deeper.

Seems like a kit that gives you a good base to start off in many directions, I may have to find one to add to the stash.

This project interests me greatly, can't wait to see what the end result is.
