Hi all,
Another of the care package surprises: a Revell (ex-Matchbox) 1/72 Helldiver with Airfix SBD decals. What if the RNZAF replaced its Dauntlesses with Helldivers, and one example suffered battle damage and needed a replacement wing panel from their USN comrades?

Once again,  big thanks to pigflyer for the kits! When I saw the Dauntless was in there too it made the Helldiver question a ton easier.

Absolutely crackerjack, Zac! I really like the paint job and mix of markings which are set off nicely by the yellow cowl.

You have an artist's eye my friend!

Thanks all! I was inspired by an oft-modelled RNZAF Corsair which had a replacement (albeit ex-RNZAF) rear fuse in different paint, and by someone asking whether any of our Corsairs served with a yellow cowl.

What a superb idea, and very well presented too. I wonder how many nations one could involve on a single airframe this way? Raf serials on Aussie spits, U.S. task force markings on RN fighters far east way, and then this idea too, now there's a challenge I will shy away from.

Love the work, and as regards the kits, you are making a damn good job of them, well worth it.

If it's great, I did it. If it's naff, I found it.
