Great...Don't call me rivetcounter or JMN...but Soviet or Russian fighters /attackers usually have odd numbers :) Mig-15,-17,-19,-21,-23,-25 etc.
-
Is this the secret source of the Mirage IIIE? Nice... ;)
-
Thats sharp :) :-*

Great...Don't call me rivetcounter or JMN...but Soviet or Russian fighters /attackers usually have odd numbers :) Mig-15,-17,-19,-21,-23,-25 etc.
But fictional Soviet fighters can also have even numbers, such as MiG-28 ;)

Errr...is it 1st of April yet? ::)

Errr...is it 1st of April yet? ::)
Comrades: Does this Socialist modelling collective have an associated NKVD unit? A capitalist interloper is suspected ::) Person claiming to be Tovarich GTX_Admin is suspiciously unaware that the hundredth anniversary of Sovnarkom's glorious Soviet Calendar approaches :icon_surprised:
-
Comrade, the Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production (not sure how the last bit got added but the State knows best) is very aware of the approaching hundredth anniversary of Sovnarkom's glorious Soviet Calendar. That said, is the loyal(?) comrade also aware that pre-emptive celebration events (approx 34hrs (corrected Moscow time) ahead of schedule) are an example of decadent counterrevolutionary behaviour obviously instigated by corrupt imperialist elements? One wouldn't want to need to start a closer investigation of said comrades activities would we...

Thanks guys :)

Well, what options would I have? ;D The other numbers are available and aesthetically speaking this MiG 22 fits perfectly between MiG 21 and MiG 23.
But fictional Soviet fighters can also have even numbers, such as MiG-28 ;)
I had this in mind.
Errr...is it 1st of April yet? ::)
Jeez...this happens when you reading between the lines or diagonally...or maybe 1st April is the pay day ;D and I jumped into the future ;D
In this case,my drawing is still eligible?

That will be up to Comrade LemonJello, the current Secretary of the Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production.

Oops, ... so is there decent wifi coverage at those Re-Education Centres, Comrade? :o
-
GLONASS coverage is good. Whether you will have time to use it though is questionable. After all, there are all those Unicraft and Starfix kits to be building...

The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production has met and come to the following conclusion:
Comrade Axor's eagerness to show the motherland's foes our military prowess is admirable but must be tempered so as to keep Шпионы и диверсанты (spies and saboteurs) in the dark. In this case, we of the Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production see this as merely a "peek behind the curtain" sure to rouse the proletariat to even greater goals!
However, we must warn the collective that our glorious leader, GTX_Admin has his gimlet eye upon us all!
-
After investigation by the Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production, chief manager Alexey Axorovici was suspended for an indefinite period and MiG-22 project was canceled, although, the Air Force were in desperate need of an new jet fighter.
However, his departure didn't mean ceasing development of new projects because,in secret,he collaborated with new chief designer and the result of their collaboration was MiG-24 Fantom !

Nice! 8)
Lemme guess: it was later upgraded with a bis-style spine and able to carry AA-7 Apex AA-10 Alamos? ;)
EDIT: Going by the Archers, Alamos would be more appropriate.
-
Congratulations and thanks! I had never imagined that a non-bubble F-16 would be lovey as well... :-*
-
That MiG-16 looks ridiculously legitimate :-* I built a 1/32 one but borrowed from the Mig-23.
F-111 looks gorgeous :-*
-
Thanks comrades :)
One of the most important achievements in civil aviation !

Looks great in Aeroflot livery, Mr Axor!

I must confess I was unable to say if the Tu-203 is a Real airplane or not... :( ???
I checked with Google and found none, so it is invented while perfectly credible, congratulations! :-*
Is this a shortened Tu-204?
-
Niiiice! 8)
Just a thought: a painted-on fake glass nose? :P For old times' sake.
Maybe even in a sort-of "retro" livery. The one with the blue tail and black anti-glare panel.
EDIT: This scheme. Love the more vibrant blue. LINK! (http://www.airliners.net/photo/Aeroflot/Tupolev-Tu-134A/2447242/L)

Thanks gents :)
Moritz,good point ;)
The fight continues,Ilyushin IL-9

That's really sharp.

Subtle change that could easily fool many

,Ilyushin IL-9
Subtle change that could easily fool many
Uh? This was so subtle I did not know what the change is. I asked Google what is the true Il-9 but found none. So: Il-8? Yes, it seems so. And with the soviet designation system, Il-9 would be a fighter derivative of the Il-8, have I understood all?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's just an Ilyushin Il-10 with a Ju 87D cockpit. I think the combination looks better than either of the donors, and it fits as a "missing link" between the Il-2 and Il-10, hence the lower number, I take it.
Cheers,
Logan
-
Warm greetings comrades and thank you !
In this GB all my images embodies an alternative history, where the western design of our current history is developed in the east in alt history,of course, some aspects may be identical on both sides.I'm not good at stories and because of this my work seems incomplete or without a specific logic...sometimes.
Regardig the designation system I chose to use the other numers to distinguish my models from known models...in some cases,as Logand pointed out, they can represent the missing link between two known types.
This last profile happened accidentally,in my outline folder those two ( IL-10 and JU-87) were next to each other and then it came up,after ten minutes Il-9 was ready for painting.

The glazed nose is very pleasant, reminding Soviet bombers.
While... what is its use on an airliner? In the capitalist (evil) side, this would make first class expensive seats with wonderful view forward and below but this must be different on a Soviet airliner for proletarian equal people... maybe this is for the leader and best party commanders, all right. ;)
-
The glazed nose is very pleasant, reminding Soviet bombers.
While... what is its use on an airliner?
Read from somewhere that in true Cold War mindset, all Soviet airliners were mandated to be convertible to makeshift bombers as necessary so that they could still be used to bomb the imperalist lackeys after all the real bombers were nuked or shot down...
-
The glazed nose is very pleasant, reminding Soviet bombers.
While... what is its use on an airliner? <...>
Because of great size of glorious Motherland, radio beacons weren't avaliable everywhere. So airliners transporting industrious workers to their well-deserved holidays had glazed noses, which allowed navigation via terrain features or calculating drift by using reference lines in the flat panels in the nose.

Comrade AXOR! We of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production are in awe of the genius and dedication of your design bureau. This design is sure to fill our workers' hearts with pride and desire to travel across our great nation while also creating envy and jealousy in the poor proletariat held under the unfair yoke of the so-called capitalist "free" Western countries.
I see that your latest submission has drawn the curiosity of the Subcommittee for Decal Solution Quality Control and Tire Pressure Regulating of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production:

Yes Greg,in that picture is the pre-production model, only fifteen were built.
The main production version had another engine and a revised tail for better stability.

Wonderful illustration of what the Soviet transformation has been. :-*

The Sovietised Spit looks really good! :) :)
What did you use for the nose & tail? ???
My knowledge of Soviet aircraft is rather limited.

Thanks :)

I have heard of the Yak-55 single-seat twin-plane (port 5b/1 without cockpit, starboard 5b/2), I could try to present it with bitmap change but it would me more simple for you AXOR if you have a vectorial source. Tell me if you won't make it. (This is important historically: this was the winner of the war)... ;)
-
Hi Cristophe. :)
For my linedrawings I use Paint.NET,so I don't have a vectorial drawing for Yak and Spit, but I could try a top view with Yak-55 as you described it.
-
Thanks :)

I may try to do one in 3D some day.

In an alternative history Su-250 Bulkhead would be the equivalent of Su-25.

Oh my yes and the camo is not only perfect for it, but pure eye-candy too!
Once again, comrade Axor, you have demonstrated that no scheming capitalist parasite can come close to the excellence of Soviet engineering! May you receive endless plaudits from the proletariat and an Order of Lenin along with a substantial increase in your vodka ration!
Brian da Basherski
-
MiG 17 = excellent! La 5b, this is proof that the best looking aircraft in the world can all be improved only by superb Soviet design and build, and this deserves
many awards and much vodka.
It is of course known that Comrade Axorski only does such work for a love of the motherland, and therefore would not want any awards or vodka.
:P
