A30 Avenger, not Whiff but rare enough to be one
« on: August 02, 2015, 03:37:36 PM »
the A30 Avenger was developed by the Brits as a refinement of the Challenger, with a modifed turret. None were put into production in time for WW2 but they did serve Post War in Germany.

This is the IMA (International Models Asia) resin kit. IMA do some really neat and often ground breaking stuff of rare AFV's.

it is a typical short run type resin kit and a great basis to work from but some extra details are often required, but IMA have included almost everything.
The tracks were not the best, but they will do

Being sort of open topped I added in some hypothetical interior

A few more bits to go on then into the paint shop

Looking forward to this - I almost purchased this kit a while back. Ended up just getting their Comress -75 and Mantis Experimental Bren Gun Carrier instead:

I've always like the Avenger. The Raised cover on the turret struck me as a fairly interesting solution, though I notice it wasn't widely emulated.
