Just wrapped this one up.  I'd say it fits the timeline.  In my back story the N-9 goes into squadron service  as a continental defense interceptor engaging the swarms of bombers coming over the North Pole.

Yeah, that's my AV-22 undergoing some cleaning - it's too big to fit in my cabinet, so it sits on top and gathers a lot of dust.
