Post by: LemonJello on November 02, 2012, 03:04:22 AM
Bringing this one back from the boneyard with every intention of getting it done before the end of the year!

I've managed to get some work done here and there and will post some updated photos when I get a chance.

Topsides and underside are going to get a coat of terra cotta texture paint prior to the final scheme going on.

LJ, remember to do the texture paint in manageable sections, if you handle it before it sets up it will squish, a little tricky to work with but well worth the effort.

Just one photo update today: added the terra cotta/RAM coating to the topsides.

I masked off some small access panel outlines to break up the terra cotta pattern, the underside will have some as well.

Busy time around LemonJello Industries; the usual holiday mayhem, I'm wrapping up my last class for my bachelors degree and I'm studying to get my CCNA certification.

I did manage to squeeze in a little time on the bench:

The ordnance is ready to hang on the rotary launcher.

Paint and final assembly are all that's left at this point.

Your interpretation of the SDB certainly looks convincing.  Also a great way to re-purpose the poorly shaped 155mm projectile shapes.  I take it you sourced yours from the Trumpeter M198 kit?

Yes, sir, the Trumpy M198 donated the shell shapes for the warhead, then various diameters of evergreen tubing and whatever was handy made up the rest.  The prototype is the best of the four, that's what I get for stopping before they were all completed, so there are some serious variations in the wings and tail fins.  But they'll do the trick, I think.
