I had the idea that I should build a series of "Russified" Teen Fighters. Doing one of each F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-18. Then i realized I already had done that with everything except the F-15. Still in the early planning stages. Should be ready by April 1, Komrades.

My dad's unit (Florida Air National Guard) had one of those transferred to it before it went in for a repaint.
Cheers,

Comrade Taiiden! Welcome! The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production sees your project as confirmation of the truth that is our socialist struggle against the forces of capitalism arrayed against us.

In keeping with what appears to be NATO policy up until the 1970's, the code name needs to be less than flattering (for ex., "Beauty" being changed to "Blinder" when the aircraft that had been initially identified as "Blinder" was recognized as a large interceptor and code named "Fiddler"). To that end, I propose "Flapwing" as the NATO code name for this aircraft.

Give it a MiG-29 SMT-style hump! :)

How about changing the shape of the vertical stabilizer to make it more Soviet?

The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production affixes the official Seal of Approval to this progressive design!

Taking kerick's idea of modified stabs and adding some further MiG-29 doodads:
The stabs are from a MiG-25 and are to scale. I tried MiG-29 stabs, but they're either too small (same scale) or too big (MiG-29 in a bigger scale than the F-15). Personally, I'd try to mod the F-15 stabs to a more Fulcrum-ish look (add fin fillet and flare launchers, angled cut-off at the top).
Depending on the version of R-27 used, it may be impossible to get a pair in tandem on the flanks.

Those fins look perfect! >:D

замечательно, Comrade Chernaya!

Oh yeah,F-15 SMT looks awesome!

Naah. As a follow-up to the Flogger but more brutal, why not Flayer? "Flapwing" sounds too much like an ornithopter (or failing that, the codename for that VG "Tomkatski").

Mig-29 specific drop tank would be more suitable. Mig-29 intakes with shutters on top side also would look nice. And of course Mig-29 exhausts :)
Code name? Eagleski or Orlowski :)
PS:
Maybe a little marriage of F-15 and Mig-31 Firefox ?:D
Firefox front fuselage part and canards, rest from F-15 (intakes and wings but with Firefox-style dropped wingtips), exhausts and verticals from Firefox but horizontals from F-15. Now F-15 SE weapon bays (in the FAST packs). This would be a MONSTER :)

Thanks Moritz! Agree on the Mig-25 fins...
... Which is why I found some before the GB even started! >:D
Great minds think alike! :)
I'm off to find the rest of the F-15 parts now (all my Hornets and Eagles trees are in a big "McAir box") gotta sort through.

SWMBO bought this stuff for a home project of hers and gave the rest to me. It rocks. Goes on smooth, one coat cover, dries super flat and even. Ive been stretching this can for project after project because one swipe and its done! (highly recommended)

Fins removed from built MiG I got off Ebay years ago (no worries the Foxbat will find a home >:D )

Painted Flanker Cans (zhengdufu)

I'm far from an expert, but that sure looks like a good Soviet interior color to me, Mr Tomcat!
Great work on the pilot as well! Looks like the real McCoy!
Those burner cans are shaping up nicely too.

Couldn't sleep a few days ago so I tried to make some progress O0

Some nails to pin the fins to. With kids around I'm trying to make my models all the stronger.

I had to do a lot of filling and sanding, as I mated the two together. The lines are there to ensure I'm placing it the same way every time and sanding down both pieces to improve the fit.

Left fin was not as nice a fit and needed some help, but I glued it and let it set overnight

Looking most promising, Comrade Tomcatski! The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production is most pleased to see you continue your efforts!

The intakes are multi-piece affairs, I had to use glue with Re... Re ... Restraint? Am I using that word correctly? ???

very poor picture of what has been a very challenging fit experiment. Think I might finally have it nailed down

A bit of a preview.
This might be where the train stops though :icon_crap: Baby-2 is due any day now. Was hoping I would make more progress before this day but life finds a way.

Congratulations on the pending arrival! :)
Compared to the above: Meh, it's a model. You'll get back to it one day. ;)
