As detailed in Martin Middlebrook’s “Argentine Fight for the Falklands” they had planned to invade just before the 150th anniversary of their expulsion from the Falklands on January 2/3, 1833. They were rushed into an invasion in April 1982 because of the South Georgia scrap iron dispute. This alternate history story will explore what could have happened if the Argentine invasion went in as scheduled on New Year’s Day 1983.
