In these two wiki articles you can read the real history of Polikarpov. Interesting readings, I think.

So ... What if Mr Polikarpov managed to survive the WWII to be involved in development of early Soviet Jet Fighters?

I do like Sabre (for me she is very elegant, tail fin above all) and MiG-15 too, but while I consider MiG-15 quite cute, a find her tail fin not so nice. This way I tried to mate Sabre's tail fin with MiG-15. I find the drawing result pleasant.

This can look as a Polikarpov cute fighter. What do you think?

Polikarpov Po-9

Wings have been shortened from root end and legs repositioned accordingly.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Looking good but I think the tail needs to have the squareness knocked off the top & be rounded off, like the wings & tail-planes.
