Sukhoi B-503 "Yukikaze" 1:48
« on: September 24, 2012, 04:41:57 AM »
Folks,

A few days ago I found this picture on this forum...

...and decided that I have to built it :) Of course I'll change verticals and exhausts to look more like Yukikaze-ish but I won't modify it to look exactly like "Yukikaze". A year ago I've started conversion of Su-35 into Yukikaze but it was a faliure...

So I ordered Kitech's something-like Su-27 :)

I'll post some photos when there'll be something to show :) Now I'm still thinking about canopies. Any ideas?

I thought about F-16 canopy. But what scale? 1:48 or 1:72? I think the best would be F-22 canopy but don't know if there is vacformed 1:72 canopy to this plane.Buying two cheap F-22 is also an option.

Now this is an ambitious build! Are you sure you don't want to do it in 1/32 scale?  ;)   looking forward to seeing this one.

Awesome project!  :)

I'd say F-22 canopies in 1/72 would probably look best.  :)

Perhaps you could cheat and use a pair of YF-22 canopies, or are they too different?  I'd reckon YF-22 kits might be a bit easier to find at reasonable prices.

Find me cheap 1:32 Su-27 and I will :)

I'm searching for two cheap YF-22 or F-22. There was an awful 1:72 F-22 made by Aeroplast but it cost more than I thought :)

Still no progress (time time time time...need more time! )...but a question...

I've ordered two cheap 1:72 F-22 kits so I have canopies but still I have a problem with cockpits. I know that Yukikaze's pit lokks like that:
http://www.gearsonline.net/series/yukikaze/super-sylph/sup-sylph-08.gif

I'm thinking about buying two Pavla resin cockpits but for what plane? I think that Harrier's pit is most suitable, of course there'll be some modifications :) Here is a photo of stock cockpit:

What do you think?

Using Harrier cockpits looks good to me!  :)

First of all, It's nice to see that this topis catched attetion of so many great whiffers :)
But, back to the model...yesterday it was quite good:

But today...a few hours ago...suddently... terrible thought..."#$^%*&% !!! Where are the wheel wells?". I couldn't mount landing gears directly on the fuselage underside. It must have GEAR WELLS. So with tears I have to cut Yukikaze to mount these $%^&*% wells. Suprisingly I had fit problems only with the first one. Here is result:

And finally , front gear strut:
