I have lengthened the fuselage.  The E-1 is just over 45 feet long, the SF2-4 was going to be over 46 feet long, so I used the line drawing you supplied GTX, an old profile by Maverick, and a lot of "Mmmm, looks ABOUT right" to make my template.

I thought an AEW version would look good too........so I'll see what I can do!

M.A.D asked me to have a go at creating a profile of the Vought V.384, which was designed as a lightweight version of the F-8 Crusader.  I have to admit, I'd never heard of it, but Rob (M.A.D) sent me off in the direction of Retromechanix, which had a few drawings from the early 1960s.  I used the following one as the "reference" for my go at a profile.

Using a selection of F-8 drawings and yet more "looks about right" I've done profiles of the V384 in RAN colours, assuming extended service, (with upgrades) from about 1961 to 1985.  Hopefully they will fit in with M.A.D's Alternative ADF Orbat.

Delivery scheme

Mid Life update, with added AIM9 Sidewinders, mounted as per the F-8B

Later life, with increased AIM9 capability

In the "infamous" A-4 Aggressor scheme

And finally in a low viz scheme, using an idea from Gekko Graphics

Cheers

Looks nice! :)

(But I'd prefer the F-8, myself. ;) )

The Tracker variants look good, too, &, as I intend building a turbo-Tracker from one of my remaining kits, I may steal your twin-tail idea.
"This is the Captain. We have a little problem with our engine sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and, ah, explode."

Evening all.  It's been a while, but I have been snowed under at work and at home.

Rob (M.A.D) asked for a few revisions to fit in with his ADF backstory, plus a few changes to the V384, mainly make the gun muzzles more obvious and add an arrestor hook, which is always a good idea on a carrier aircraft!

To go with that Rob asked if I could alter the Belfast to give it extra undercarriage for rough field capabilites, plus some more paint schemes.

As always, I'm happy to oblige.

First off revised RAN V384s, a two seater.

Then to show the multirole capabilities of the aircraft, one armed with Aim7 Sparrows and one with Matra rocket pods/fuel tanks.

As the main tactical transport for the RAAF, I added the new undercarriage and then put the Belfast in the colour schemes of the RAAF's C-130s and Caribous.

Early tactical scheme

Late tactical scheme

Caribou green scheme

Caribou army scheme

Caribou red desert scheme

Phew.  Right I'm going for a lie down now  ;)

Cheers

Bloody fantastic work thank you Mark
Love the two-seat V384, she looks great!
Very much appreciate your time and efforts as per usual - especially with you facilitating and incorporating my endless wants of tweaks   ;)
The Belfast's additional main landing gear colour schemes look cool  :P
You can now stand down my friend  ;D

On the profile request board Artoor asked for an F-4J in low viz Polish markings, so I thought I'd give it a go.

It's been a long while since I posted anything.  2018 was not a great year, so whiffing took a back seat.

M.A.D asked me a long time back about an Electra based AWACS aircraft for the RAAF.  Here is my first stab at it.  I think I've undersized the radome, which I "nicked" from an E-2 Hawkeye.

And I also managed to find a real version, based on the P-3

While the Alize AEW debate rages, here are my attempts at an early Aeronavale version, with upper and lower radomes.
